TSFF22: Young Top Of The South Film Makers G

Now in its eighth year, the Top of the South Film Festival (TSFF) continues to expand in quantity and quality. From drama to documentaries, comedy to horror, music videos to animations, the TSFF celebrates the best locally produced short films. Over 40 films are showcased in 4 different screening events: the Gold Reel and Silver Reels, the Aotearoa Reel (the best entries from all of NZ) and the Young Top of the South Filmmakers screening (films from kids yr 3 to 8). The Top of the South Film Festival screens in Nelson, Motueka, Blenheim, Golden Bay, Westport and Kaikoura. Blenheim hosts the 2021-22 red carpet awards event with trophies awarded in 14 categories including Best Film, Director, Screenplay, Actor/Actress, Supporting Actor/Actress, Cinematography, Editing, Original Score, Sound, Documentary, Student Film, Music Video, 48 Hour and the Falvey Filmmaker of the year award. All festival proceeds are donated to the Top of the South Filmmakers Society which provides financial support to its members who pursue the art of filmmaking in our Top of the South region.
